The WDMCS Board of Education will hold a workshop meeting at 5:15 p.m. followed by a regular meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, at the Learning Resource Center in West Des Moines.
West Des Moines Community Schools will welcome Bryan Geelan as the new Communications Department director starting Monday, Aug. 19.
WDMCS Community Education is saying goodbye to two long-time colleagues with 60 years of combined experience this spring. Kids West Program Supervisor Amy Dvorak and Continuing Education Coordinator Sue Otte couldn't seem more different at first glance, but they are similarly dedicated to WDMCS students and families and will leave a lasting impression on their department as they retire.
We are pleased to announce that, starting July 1, Tyler Denton will take on the Crossroads Park Elementary assistant principal role, pending WDMCS Board of Education approval.
Valley High School knows 2024 graduate Briley Corwin best as the one covering school events and student news. Editor of the yearbook and secretary of communications for Student Council, Briley spent much of her high school career getting to know her school community and lifting up others instead of seeking the spotlight.
Walnut Creek Campus 2024 graduate Keara Cameron is a fan of "mind-boggling" stories. Through finding her confidence, determination, and joy in learning, Keara is now writing her own surprising story as she begins her college journey.
